In my last blog, I discussed admission counselors and how they can be a great resource to students going through the college search and application processes. Today, I want to discuss a new resource available to Massachusetts students. I was reading Boston.com a couple weeks ago and came across an article about virtual college counselors and thought it was a very interesting idea.

Basically, there is now a website called YourPlanforCollege.org that can be used by students and parents during the college search process. As they explain on their website in the About Us section: “YourPlanForCollege is the state's no-cost, one-stop online shop for students, parents, and educators designed to help Massachusetts students manage their educational and career pathways.” The website offers college planning and career planning for students as well as access to mentors and counselors.

I highly recommend checking this website out if you live in Massachusetts. It’s a resource many students across the country do not have, so take advantage of it! If you don’t live in Massachusetts, you may still be in luck. Many states are now offering sites such as these. New Hampshire has a site called, NHHEAF.org. Check and see if your state has one too!

Note: Did you know you could win a $10,000 scholarship for college or grad school just by registering on CollegeXpress? This is one of the quickest, easiest scholarships you’ll ever apply for. Register Now »
