Christopher Newport University, founded in 1960, is a public, liberal arts university. Programs are offered through the College of Arts and Humanities, the College of Natural and Behavioral Sciences, and the College of Social Sciences which includes the Luter School of Business. Its 260-acre campus is located in Newport News, VA, 2-1/2 hours south of Washington, DC, and less than an hour from Norfolk, Williamsburg, and Virginia Beach.
