Undergrad Profile

CCU is an accredited Christian university located minutes from Denver and the mainline Rocky Mountains.

As a university focused on Christ, we place a huge emphasis on how you are growing as an entire person. That’s why tons of student activities, local ministries, mission trips, and authentic friendships have become hallmarks of the CCU experience.

At CCU you’ll be shaped through a healthy balance of close community, caring professors who relate your learning to Christ, and a view of how God wants to use you to impact the world.

Premier location
CCU is housed in Lakewood, Colorado, between downtown Denver and the Rockies. Denver is just 15 minutes away and offers a great mix of job opportunities, volunteer options, culture, entertainment, and pro sports. And within an hour’s drive from campus you can bike, climb, hike, kayak, ski, snowboard, or visit Pikes Peak or Rocky Mountain National Park—to name a few.

Ever wanted to try ice climbing? Or hike a “fourteener” (peaks that summit at 14,000 feet or higher above sea level)? CCU’s year-round Best of Colorado program lets you try different outdoor activities in one of the nation’s best wilderness states.

Four-day weeks
Students shouldn’t be stuck in classrooms all week. After all, much of your growth will happen beyond classroom walls, which is a huge part of your development during college.
Depending on your program of study at CCU, you’ll have the option to schedule your courses as a four-day school week, allowing you more time to soak up the college years—whether that means studying, working, spending time with friends, volunteering, or taking advantage of all the opportunities in Denver and the wilderness.

Intentional spiritual growth
You’ll grow closer to God—alongside your peers—with activities like discipleship groups and campus chapels. At CCU you’ll be encouraged to participate in God’s kingdom through community service, student-led local ministries, and mission trips. In recent years, CCU mission teams have visited over 50 countries!

Authentic, relational community
Nearly 30 campus organizations are open each year to students, helping you explore interests such as academics, the arts, the environment, global issues, and politics. Or you can get involved in our robust intramural sports programs, as well as root for your favorite sports team along with your friends—or play for one!

NCAA Division II sports
The CCU Cougars are members of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, one of the largest and most competitive NCAA Division II conferences in the nation. The University is also a Division I member of the National Christian College Athletic Association.

Logan fowler

MAJOR: Communications
Youth Ministry
Omaha, Nebraska

Logan’s journey to CCU wasn’t quite typical.
While he knew he wanted a strong Christian experience at an out-of-state school, those schools often carried lofty price tags. However, after working closely with an enrollment counselor—including having the counselor visit his family and talk about school with his parents over dinner—Logan ended up coming to CCU for less than the cost of a popular public school near his hometown.

Since making CCU home, Logan has deeply immersed himself in the campus community. “CCU has a unique community where peers care for one another and faculty and staff are intentional about investing into the lives of students as well. The professors and staff often become both lifelong friends and mentors,” he notes. Coming from a large school with a graduating class of 800, the one-on-one attention was new to Logan, but he’s benefited from every aspect of it.

And it has helped grow his faith. “CCU helps you work through faith in a positive way, providing students like me with a healthy environment of both challenge and encouragement to ask how and why instead of providing all the answers,” he says.

Wherever God leads, Logan will be prepared to follow after an array of adventures here. His learning experiences—including mission trips to Moldova and paid internships—have equipped him for life beyond college even before graduating. “The limitless opportunities CCU offers,” says Logan, “allow you to exercise classroom knowledge through hands-on experience that is life changing and character building.”
