At University of Wisconsin—Green Bay, we pride ourselves on our big-picture approach to education.
It’s a holistic style that accounts for your unique way of learning, your passion, your perspective.
An education at UW—Green Bay means working closely with outstanding faculty mentors and benefitting from first-rate teaching. It means hands-on learning experiences and graduate-style research opportunities. You’ll be challenged to look at problems and solutions from multiple perspectives. Employers believe this type of learning is a better way to view the world. We believe it’s a better way to do college and prepare for a 21st- century career. We call this learning interdisciplinary.
Interdisciplinary education spans disciplines, majors, or areas of study, and it’s the foundation of a UW—Green Bay education. We encourage you to take supplementary courses that complement your major area of study. Why? To make sure you do more than gain a narrow band of skills. Here you’ll develop critical-thinking, creative problem-solving, and strong communication skills. Your future employers will be glad you did.
And it all starts on a beautiful, safe, and welcoming campus that you’ll share with about 6,900 other students who come from all different backgrounds. Together you represent about 70 Wisconsin counties, 37 states, and more than 30 countries.
You will learn from award-winning and internationally recognized faculty who will help you grow and transform in your college career. They provide students with a broad range of experiences and expertise through hands-on learning, exciting travel opportunities, and courses that are always diverse and engaging. This “best-practice” teaching involves helping students define and solve problems from multiple perspectives and engaging students in hands-on learning alongside the very best as they study real-world issues.
At UW—Green Bay you will attend one of the smaller universities in the University of Wisconsin System. We do not have teaching assistants teaching classes, so you will have a chance to learn from our excellent scholars during your entire college experience.
The faculty and staff here are invested in you. You are a name, not a number. Ask anyone: the minute you walk onto campus, you will feel accepted and welcome. With friendly classmates and encouraging faculty and staff, you will feel like you have a place here—because you do.
Exploring our campus (online or during a campus visit) you will notice our modern buildings and excellent facilities. In our recently renovated Lab Sciences building, you might participate in a cadaver dissection. At the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts, you could perform in a band or choir one night and see a big-name artist the next. Looking for outdoor adventure? Run on our six miles of beautiful arboretum trails, play a round of golf on our nine-hole course, or toss some discs in Frisbee golf. Did we mention that every residence hall room has a private bathroom? That’s right, no shower shoes for you.
Although UW—Green Bay is a smaller campus, it is located in the third-largest city in Wisconsin, home to a busy downtown, great shopping, and the Green Bay Packers. There is a lot to do in Green Bay, personally and professionally. Our students participate in internships and job shadow opportunities all over the city. But you don’t have to take our word for it: visit uwgb.edu/visit to learn about your campus tour options.
Now that you know a little bit about our campus, the question is: Are you ready to meet internationally recognized faculty members who are excited to teach your classes? Are you ready to work on real problems in hands-on internships and research projects? Are you ready to connect with other students, faculty, and mentors on a welcoming and beautiful campus?
