Coe makes it possible. You make it happen.
Whether you’re a business analyst, environmentalist, poet, or physicist . . . or all of the above, Coe College offers superb academic and cultural opportunities. Our residential campus community and location in a thriving urban setting enables student growth and success. Established in 1851, Coe has a distinctive history of excellence that allows academically motivated students to reach their highest potential.
U.S.News & World Report and The Princeton Review recognize Coe as a top U.S. institution of higher education. With national and international connections and over 60 areas of study, our graduates attend grad school at institutions like Harvard and Stanford and work at places like Google, Nike, the Chicago Board of Trade, and the Smithsonian Institution. A Coe education is complemented by personalized experiences and relationships, including the support of faculty advisors, individualized graduate school and career preparation, and much more.
Experience that applies to the real world
One hundred percent of graduates are guaranteed hands-on experience before graduation in the form of an internship, research, or off-campus study domestically or abroad. Each student’s experience is carefully selected through collaboration with his or her faculty advisor. For some students this means interning at Mayo Clinic or Corning, Inc.; for others it means doing National Science Foundation–funded research on campus with a faculty member. Coe is one of a few small schools in the country to serve as a host site for the National Science Foundation’s Research Experiences for Undergraduates program. These experiences, along with our location and individual attention, are just a few of the reasons why our graduates find success after graduation. For many years nearly 100% of reporting grads have been employed or in graduate school within one year of graduation.
The Coe community
The right living environment is essential to providing a superior educational experience. Coe College is a dedicated residential campus with nearly 100% of its students living in an on-campus residence hall or apartment. Because everyone lives here, everything happens here! With more than 70% of time in college spent outside of the classroom, participation in clubs and athletics and attending cultural events is a very important part of the overall college experience.
Coe College is located on the edge of downtown Cedar Rapids, Iowa. With a metro-area population of 175,000, our location offers amenities of larger cities in a safer environment. Nationally known for excellence in education, the state of Iowa is the perfect place to make your second home while experiencing American culture.
