What to do when you get to OSU?
With more than 200 degree programs available to students, OSU will help you discover your area of interest. Students will have the opportunity to find a major that fuels their passions and leads to a rewarding career.

At OSU students can challenge themselves with a rigorous academic program and through our Honors College, which provides smaller, discussion-based classes with students who have similar interests.

Students can participate in research alongside a faculty member in any area of study, beginning as early as their freshman year with the Freshman Research Scholar program, an opportunity offered at select campuses around the country.

If you are looking to prepare for professional school, OSU can help. With advising in pre-law, pre-health, and pre-veterinary studies, you cancreate a plan to continue your education in any of these fields. OSU’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences, one of the top veterinary medicine schools in the country, also tops the rankings in value for the cost of an education in veterinary medicine. The OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine has been consistently ranked among the best medical allopathic and osteopathic schools in the country.

OSU also helps students prepare for life after graduation by helping them find great careers. With OSU Career Services, students receive help to perfect their interview techniques, polish their résumés, and practice writing cover letters. 

You’ll have access to various events centering on career development. OSU Career Services also holds many career fairs on campus, which can help you land that perfect position even before graduation.

More than classes
Life at OSU is all about options. More than 450 different campus organizations offer opportunities for you to get involved, learn leadership skills, and connect with other students with similar interests.

Within the last four years alone, students have donated 240,000 volunteer hours. If you love to volunteer, there are limitless chances to do so.

Students can participate in many activities around Stillwater, including walking at scenic Boomer Lake, catching a movie with friends, and visiting unique local shops and eateries.

There is also a tight-knit community in Stillwater that revolves around the University. With easy access to Oklahoma City and Tulsa, students in Stillwater will have opportunities for great internships, fantastic shopping, and exciting Oklahoma City Thunder NBA games. Life at OSU is fast paced and full of fun.

At OSU students have unlimited options regarding their time spent on and off campus. Whether you are looking for somewhere to live, an organization to join, or a place to study abroad, OSU can provide what you’re looking for.

There are 27 different housing options on campus for students. This also provides an opportunity to connect with students with similar interests and goals.

You will always be able to find a delicious and nutritious meal while on campus too. With 30 different dining options, students can satisfy any craving.

Students can also take advantage of study abroad opportunities in over 35 countries around the world. With options from Argentina to France to Morocco, students are bound to find a new place they would love to discover with OSU. 

America’s Healthiest Campus 

As America’s Healthiest Campus, OSU is dedicated to providing first-class wellness programs, services, and facilities to students.

With access to the Colvin Recreation Center, students can enjoy indoor and outdoor pools, basketball/volleyball courts, free weights and fitness equipment, and a 25-foot climbing wall.

Students also have access to over 150 different fitness classes, such as martial arts, dance, spin, water aerobics, yoga, kickboxing, and more.

Intramural sports are another activity students can participate in to help maintain an active lifestyle. In fact, 4,000 students participate in intramural sports each week in more than 50 different sporting activities. Students can choose from basketball, flag football, kickball, and many more. Joining intramural sports is a fantastic way to be with friends, be healthy, and have fun either indulging in your favorite sport or trying a new one. 

Many students can experience stress as they transition into college life. With OSU’s Reboot Center, students can unwind with free high-tech computer games and programs specially designed to help you relax.

Pete’s Pet Posse, OSU’s Pet Therapy Program, is another unique benefit available to OSU students to help manage stress. Leaving a pet behind to come to college can be a challenge for many students. But with Pete’s Pet Posse, students can gain the benefits of pet companionship while on campus.
