Jacksonville University (JU) Davis College of Business is committed to priming graduates for success in the real world, with real data and real results. Hosting numerous majors and programs, JU offers undergraduate students a common business core, which provides a general overview of all aspects of business functions. And that’s only the beginning.  

Accounting
The Accounting curriculum at JU is designed to provide a foundation for entry into both the financial and managerial aspects of accounting. From reporting operations and financial footing to techniques and systems, our Accounting students also become excellent candidates for management positions in such areas a banking, investment houses, and brokerage firms. Other goals for students include licensing as a CPA, CMA for the managerial accountant, or CIA for the internal auditor.

Analytics
This Business Analytics major at JU applies descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to transform data into actionable information. Course topics covered are advanced statistics, data visualization, time series analysis, forecasting, optimization simulation, decision analysis, database analysis, competitive intelligence, and econometrics. Many local companies partner with JU to provide experiential knowledge, making big data a big deal and offering internship opportunities to eligible applicants.

Systems
The Business Information Systems
major at JU is designed for students who want to live in that ever-evolving intersection between business and technology. Our program provides students with the tools and skills needed for informed decision making in organizations both large and small, as well as forming a better understanding of the impact that information systems have on the business world at large.

Economics
The JU Economics program combines the study of economic theory with a broad introductory look at business. Add in the soft skills acquired through classes in ethics, communication, and leadership and you have a degree that is second to none. Our Economics students go beyond
the study of supply and demand to explore economic theory and how to apply those theories to solve relevant business problems. Economics affects our whole world—from government and public policy to banking, private industry, and labor relations.
 
Finance
With a focus on creating and maintaining market value, the JU Finance major emphasizes business fundamentals, including courses in ethics, communication, and leadership. Students prepare for career opportunities in corporate financial management, investment analysis and management, and international financial
management. The Finance major is also an excellent foundation for students planning to enter graduate programs or seeking a professional degree such as law or accounting.

Administration
Designed for students who have a keen interest in not only succeeding in business but leading business, the JU Business Administration program provides career-specific courses aimed
at meeting your desired business focus. This major has a progressive and relevant course design that uniquely positions students for a broad range of career opportunities upon graduation. Classes such as accounting, statistics, management, marketing, and finance, among others, prepare students for the essentials within the business sector. No matter what industry a student enters upon graduation, this degree is all about the next step.

International
Banking in London. Manufacturing in Mexico. Logistics in Asia. Entrepreneurship in Central Europe. With a degree in International Business, the possibilities are endless. JU’s International Business program marries a solid foundation in business skills with a global perspective and language specialization. Armed with this popular degree, you literally open a world of options for your future. This major builds upon basic business curriculum, adding global perspectives in economics, finance, marketing, government, and politics. In each course JU faculty bring their own international experiences to the table, and independent research projects are encouraged. The International Business major is the only AACSB-accredited program in North Florida and South Georgia among private colleges and universities. You customize the program to fit your geographic area of interest.

Aviation
The School of Aviation begins with experienced, industry-recognized
faculty and ends with you gaining world-class expertise in aviation management and advanced airline training. Our small class sizes and close-knit community provide the skills necessary for careers in airport management, airline management, air traffic control, and other related fields. Signature internships and shadowing opportunities with airlines, airports, aviation companies, and air traffic control agencies transform your classroom into a real-world, hands-on, professional experience.

Sport Business
A recent PricewaterhouseCoopers report notes that revenue in the sport
industry continues to rise, totaling almost $145 billion in FY 2015. Our Sport Business program provides students with a solid foundation in business while integrating a dynamic sport curriculum. You’ll examine how well a sponsor’s marketing plan is communicated to fans, investigate the impact of a game or race on a city’s economy, and much more. Our course work helps students progress through a range of sport classes, including promotion, technology, finance, and management and caps off with a senior seminar where students work directly with a client on a real-world project. JU’s location in northeast Florida offers a strong, symbiotic link to practical experience opportunities with professional sports teams in football (NFL), soccer (NASL), golf (PGA), and baseball (MLB-AA); NCAA Division I intercollegiate competition; and other leagues and organizations, ranging from auto racing to fishing.
