University of Arkansas at Little Rock is a public institution. Founded as a junior college in 1927, it became a private, four-year college in 1957, and merged with the University of Arkansas in 1969. Programs are offered through the Colleges of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, Business Administration, Education, Professional Studies, Science, Engineering and Information Technology and the School of Law. Its 229-acre, predominantly modern campus is located in southwest Little Rock.
