Applying for admission
All programs require a completed application, a $30 application fee, three professional recommendations, an official transcript, a personal statement, and a current résumé.  Application deadlines are based on program start terms, which vary. Assumption College, located in Worcester, Massachusetts, offers MA programs in Applied Behavior Analysis, Business, Clinical Counseling Psychology, Health Advocacy, Rehabilitation Counseling, and Special Education. Assumption’s esteemed and dedicated faculty support and guide students’ educational and career goals, delivering high-quality programs, connecting them to career-building practicum opportunities, and providing flexible learning options.

Applied Behavior Analysis—a BACB-approved program
The ABA program at Assumption College prepares students for ca
reers as applied behavior analysts, and graduates of the program will be well-prepared for both clinical and research-based positions. The program teaches the science of behavior, which is essential for individuals interested in autism, general and special education, developmental and intellectual disabilities, social work, and related fields.

Students can pursue either an applied or research career path—course work can be tailored to meet students’ goals. Course sequence and practicum are approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, and graduates are well-prepared to apply to sit for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst exam.

Business/MBA—a flexible program for working professionals
The MBA program is designed to provide professional preparation primari
ly for those who wish to study on a part-time basis. Graduates are qualified to advance and succeed as leaders in the private, nonprofit, and public sectors of society. They hold diverse leadership roles in a wide range of organization types in many industries. With principled leadership a key component of the program, the curriculum emphasizes ethics and values in business.

MBA students can focus their study in several areas of concentration, including Accounting, Finance/Economics, Human Resources, International Business, Management, Marketing, and Nonprofit Leadership. The program offers a full-time accelerated MBA for recent college graduates, which can be completed in 12–14 months.

Clinical Counseling Psychology—the only MA in the US incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy throughout the entire curriculum
The Clinical Counseling Psychology program is recognized by experts in the field as one of the best in the nation for training skilled, effective clinicians and is the only program in the US incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy throughout the entire curriculum. The program is designed to prepare graduates to meet the educational requirements for licensure as a Mental Health Counselor in Massachusetts and most other states. Graduates of the program fill a need for counselors with evidence-based practice experience.

Qualified students can apply for generous Graduate Fellowships with 30 credits of tuition remission, and the program can be completed in two years. Sought-after practicums in Worcester, a city renowned for health care, are key components of the program. Four electives provide students with the flexibility to develop a depth of knowledge in their areas of specialization. Optional concentrations are available in Cognitive Behavioral Therapies or Child and Family Interventions.

Health Advocacy Program—a flexible online program
The online Health Advocacy Program imparts the knowledge, skills, competencies, and habits of mind necessary for aspiring and established health care professionals to pursue high-impact careers in case management and health advocacy. The program integrates key elements of management, social sciences, human services, edu
cation, and health science in such a way to prepare students to become effective professionals. Graduates from the Health Advocacy program will operate from strengths-based, culturally competent frameworks that value, respect, and empower clients/patients and enhance health care organizations and systems. A Master of Arts in Health Advocacy is offered as well as a Certificate in Patient Advocacy.

Rehabilitation Counseling—a nationally ranked and flexible program
The Rehabilitation Counseling program is ranked among the top pro
grams in the nation by U.S. News & World Report and is fully accredited by the Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE). The program develops leaders in the field using a multidisciplinary approach. Students are prepared to become nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselors, entering a profession that offers abundant opportunities and personal fulfillment. Graduates of the program are aggressively recruited by agencies within New England and across the US.

The MA is offered on campus and online, offering flexibility for students. Students participate in a unique real-world internship experience, mastering a comprehensive set of skills, knowledge, and competencies and then putting those skills into practice in actual rehabilitation settings under the supervision of a professional rehabilitation counselor.

Special Education—a rigorous, comprehensive program modeled on Massachusetts DESE guidelines
The Special Education program bridges the gap between theory and practice by providing students with knowledge that is proven to be effective in the classroom. Students establish a foundation for success with a rigorous, comprehensive program modeled on the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) guidelines. Graduates enter careers in a high-need area and benefit from consistently high employment rates.

Students of the program may become eligible for Initial or Professional Licensure. They are consistent achievers on the Massachusetts Test for Educator License (MTEL) and learn practical, cutting-edge techniques from instructors who are expert teachers, administrators, and counselors in local school systems. Students receive mentoring throughout the program with systematic monitoring of progress by faculty and practicum supervisors.

In addition to the MA, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Positive Behavior Supports is available for school professionals who hold a master’s degree. This program teaches specialized skills that allow school professionals to spend more time teaching and less time disciplining, becoming experts in behavioral management.
