An M.B.A. your way
At Canisius we offer an accelerated one-year M.B.A., an M.B.A., and an M.B.A. in Professional Accounting. All of our M.B.A. programs are designed for any undergraduate major. So whether your undergraduate degree was in music, biology, history, or communications, a business degree can build your résumé and enhance your career. The Richard J. Wehle School of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International), a recognition that less than 5% of the world’s business schools attain.
#1 in accounting in New York State
Whether you want to become an accountant or specialize in forensic accounting, we have a top-ranked accounting program to meet your needs. You’ll receive the support and mentoring of our council on accountancy, have opportunities to intern at a Big Four firm, and be prepared to enter a career with excellent job opportunities.
Earn a degree with a competitive edge
The Master of Sport Administration program at Canisius is one of the select few U.S. master’s programs approved by the North American Society for Sport Management. Choose from specializations in professional sport, intercollegiate athletics, and sport event management. Alumni of our sport administration program work at the Buffalo Bills, the Buffalo Sabres, the NCAA, New Era Cap, and the New York Yankees. So when you graduate, you’ll join our network of alumni who will connect you with job opportunities in sport organizations and agencies across the nation.
Make your career, make a difference
The School of Education CAEP-accredited graduate programs are designed to help you become a transformational teacher. Whether you want to become a teacher or you have a bachelor’s in education, we offer master’s degrees to meet your needs. Earn your New York State teaching certification or add a master’s degree in literacy, TESOL, physical education, differentiated instruction, education tech, or special education. Our programs are New York State approved, and with seven master’s degrees fully online, you can experience a Canisius education from anywhere in the world.
Choose a career that changes lives
We bolster CACREP-accredited counseling programs to ensure your career makes a difference. Study clinical mental health counseling or school counseling, or choose to diversify your career options with a dual degree in both areas. No matter what you choose, you’ll be trained in the highest standards to provide compassionate care for every individual.
Love college? Make it your career
Our college student personnel program will prepare you for any aspect of collegiate administration, from residence life to career counseling to student affairs—real careers in exciting college environments. You’ll participate in two internships and attend two national conferences to build your professional network. This small cohort program only starts in the fall, so apply by February 1 to be eligible for assistantships, which can help pay for 80%–90% of your program.
“I have the job I have because I was trained in the best way possible. I was given opportunities to work with professionals that other programs do not offer. Canisius was the best choice I could have possibly made for myself when it comes to my career.”
— Sarah Brach
M.S. in Differentiated Instruction
“The great thing about the M.S.A. program is it gives you a wide variety of opportunities. Every course I took was relevant. I would not be where I am today in my career without Canisius.”
— Pat Mathews
M.S. in Sport Administration
“I’m often asked how I found a hidden number or little-known fact. . . . Accounting was so demanding and required great attention to detail. I took that learning with me and it shows up in my work and life.”
