Founded in 1833, Mercer University is one of America’s oldest and most distinctive universities, offering rigorous academic programs that span undergraduate studies to doctoral-level degrees, including liberal arts, business, engineering, teacher education, music, law, theology, medicine, pharmacy, nursing, health professions, and leadership and professional studies.

For almost two decades, U.S.News & World Report has ranked Mercer among the leading universities in the South—including #1 “best value”—and The Princeton Review consistently ranks Mercer in the top 15% of colleges and universities nationwide.

Programs designed for student success
While offering a breadth of programs found at much larger universities, Mercer maintains an intimate, student-focused culture.

Mercer’s flexible graduate degree formats include full-time, part-time, evening, weekend, and online options—so you can choose to accelerate through your selected program quickly or progress at your own pace while launching your career.

Graduate studies in business
Mercer Bears don’t settle for business as usual. They think creatively. They rewrite the rules. Bears redefine success.

Widely recognized for innovative academic programs and accomplished faculty, Mercer’s Eugene W. Stetson School of Business and Economics delivers career-focused business education to develop entrepreneurial leaders and responsible global citizens. Each year the school awards thousands of dollars to students in start-up money for entrepreneurial ventures and sponsors an annual Entrepreneurial Festival. The school is accredited by the prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), placing Mercer among the top 5% of business schools globally.

Students benefit from a personalized learning experience where meaningful relationships and mentorships begin on day one. Faculty host tutoring sessions, networking opportunities, and competitive business simulations, and alumni stay involved years beyond graduation to assist students with career networking.

Mercer offers business programs that fit the varying schedules of graduate students—from our full-time Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) that allows students to earn the degree in 10–12 months to our online M.B.A. that accommodates candidates who prefer to progress at their own pace. Likewise, the Master of Accountancy can be completed as a one-year program or on a more flexible part-time schedule.

Teacher education and certification
Great teachers inspire ideas. They contribute to society by sharing their knowledge, skills, and character. They change lives. Mercer Bears are transformational educators.

Mercer University’s Tift College of Education is committed to the pursuit of excellence in every aspect of educator preparation, and our mission is to prepare candidates to blend theory with practice, to think critically, and to interact effectively in a technologically complex global society. We are devoted to preparing students to serve as teachers and school leaders who will impact the next generation in the state of Georgia, the nation, and around the world.

Students may choose from a variety of master’s-level, specialist, and doctoral programs in teacher preparation and educational leadership, including programs for individuals serving in independent and charter schools.

Mercer offers degree and certification programs that are approved by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission and accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). Completion of these education programs, combined with satisfactory scores on state-administered assessments, leads to eligibility for initial and advanced teaching certification.

Counseling, leadership, and professional studies
It’s more than a passion; it’s a calling.
It’s a determination to lead with integrity and serve selflessly. Mercer Bears seek to improve the lives of others.

Mercer University’s Penfield College offers career-focused graduate and professional degree programs in the areas of counseling, leadership, and professional studies. Upon completion of degree requirements, students enter the workforce fully prepared to take on leadership roles within their organizations and empowered to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.

Mercer’s organizational leadership and public safety leadership programs will equip you to be a leader in a variety of career fields that require training and expertise beyond traditional business practices, such as nonprofit organizations, safety and security agencies, and private specialty firms.

Mercer’s counseling and human services programs prepare individuals to provide professional service and care for others, ranging from children and adolescents to the elderly, in organizations such as mental health centers, community agencies, private practices, and academic settings. Completion of

Mercer’s school counseling programs may lead to certification by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
