Stetson University has been recognized in
U.S.News & World Report as one of the top five regional universities in the South as well as a “best value in higher education.” It’s ranked the top college “with the Best Professors in Florida” by Niche and ranked in the top 100 nationwide. That may be why Stetson has students from 55 different nations and 48 states.

Accreditation
Stetson University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, as well as the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International, American Bar Association, American Chemical Society, Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs, National Association of Schools of Music, Council for the Accreditation of Education Preparation, and Association of American Law Schools.

It’s about defining success on your terms. We are committed to an education that allows you to do just that—reach your full career potential while holding true to a healthy work-life balance.

Stetson University offers advanced degrees in accounting, business, counseling, education, law, and creative writing. Our graduate programs are offered in DeLand, Orlando, Tampa, and Gulfport, Florida. Programs vary by location.

Counseling
The Department of Counselor Education in the College of Arts and Sciences offers three Master of Science degrees: Clinical Mental Health Counseling; Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling; and School Counseling.

These programs are accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). Graduates of CACREP programs are able to apply to be a National Certified Counselor (NCC) while in the last semester of study.

The Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is designed to train individuals who aspire to be outstanding professional counselors and leaders employed in a variety of community, state, federal, and private mental health settings. Stetson’s comprehensive training program integrates a core graduate counseling curriculum with supervised clinical internships.

The Master of Science in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling program is designed to train individuals as professional couple and family counselors and leaders employed in a variety of educational, agency, hospital, nonprofit, and independent practice settings. Graduates are prepared to provide counseling services to diverse populations from a systemic perspective.

The Master of Science in School Counseling is designed to train individuals as professional counselors and leaders employed in an educational (K-12) setting. The program incorporates standards within the profession of counseling. The goal of the program is to educate prospective school counselors for the 21st century as advocates and agents of change.

Education
The Department of Education offers two Master of Education degree programs: Educational Leadership and Elementary Education—Educating for Social Justice.

The Master of Education in Educational Leadership will build knowledge of leadership, curriculum development, and the legal and financial aspects of school management while exploring how to work effectively with linguistically, culturally, and racially diverse student populations. Additionally, this degree may qualify you for positions as deans, assistant principals, principals, program directors, and other school district and state-education-level positions.

The Master of Education in Elementary Education—Educating for Social Justice has a unique focus on social justice, something few programs in the United States offer, and incorporates international and domestic components through personalized instruction—small classes with a cohort model. Developed to meet the needs identified by school leaders and consistent with Stetson’s strength in social justice, this degree focuses on advocating for socially marginalized students in local and global societies.

Creative writing
The
Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing degree program is a low-residency, two-year hybrid program consisting of classroom and online work culminating in a master’s degree focused on one of two genres: fiction or poetry. This degree encourages students to grow as both writers and global citizens. The program follows all guidelines and best practices outlined by the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP), of which Stetson University is a member.

School of Business Administration
Stetson University has been a pioneer in business education since 1897—longer than any other Florida higher education institution. The School of Business Administration offers three graduate-level programs: the Master of Accountancy, the Master of Business Administration, and the Executive Master of Business Administration.

Stetson is one of only 182 elite business schools worldwide with both the accounting program and School of Business Administration accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
The Master of Accountancy at Stetson University is a results-oriented program that prepares students for a wide range of opportunities upon graduation. The challenging curriculum provides advanced accounting knowledge and technical skills necessary to excel in the dynamic business environment and opens doors to challenging and rewarding careers. The Stetson program is offered in two formats: an “in-person” program on the DeLand campus and an online program. Both formats can be completed in as little as one year. The most recent average pass rate for Stetson graduates, for first time test takers, was 64%. The national average is 48%.

In the Master of Business Administration program at Stetson, success comes from real-life experience and application of knowledge. Students refine and sharpen skills by working in small teams that provide a testing ground for developing ideas and testing insights. The program is flexible and can be completed in 12 months full time at the DeLand campus or Center at Celebration if you have satisfied the business foundation course requirements. The professional version of the M.B.A. is designed for working professionals with a rotation of classes between the DeLand campus and Stetson’s Center at Celebration and can be completed in as little as 18 months.

The Executive Master of Business Administration program at Stetson University is committed to helping business professionals with a track record of success become significant players in the global business market. The program offers experienced professionals from any academic background the opportunity to earn an E.M.B.A. degree in only 18 months while still working. The E.M.B.A. program consists of classroom sessions on alternating Fridays and Saturdays. In addition, an international study component is a requirement, and the week abroad is included in the tuition.

College of Law
Located in Gulfport, Stetson University’s College of Law was Florida’s first law school and is nationally ranked as the #1 school in trial advocacy and #2 in legal writing. It’s ranked as one of the top 20 law schools for Hispanic students and one of the top 20 law schools for bar exam preparation. The College of Law offers an innovative curriculum taught by dedicated professors that leads to the J.D., as well as dual and joint degrees, including the J.D./M.B.A. LL.M. degrees in Advocacy and Elder Law offered online, and an LL.M. in International Law.
