Graduate programs with a focus on innovation
More than 40 master’s, 20 Ph.D., and
120 graduate certificate programs in cutting-edge disciplines go beyond theory to provide the broad knowledge across science, technology, engineering, and business that is essential for success in today’s most high-demand fields. Stevens offers unique degrees such as systems analytics and financial engineering, as well as specialized concentrations in areas such as robotics and control, transportation engineering, and innovation and entrepreneurship.

Stevens’ graduate programs regularly win national recognition. The Master of Management and Master in Business Analytics programs, for example, have been ranked among the top 10 in the country for two years in a row by The Financial Engineer. 

Stevens boasts strong partnerships with Fortune 500 companies and leading government agencies, as well as an extensive alumni network of highly successful science, technology, and business leaders. Stevens is celebrated for an entrepreneurial culture that extends beyond our technology-focused business school. Graduate financial aid opportunities
Stevens provides over $13 million in graduate financial aid in the form of research, teaching, and graduate assistantships. These assistantships are highly competitive and are given at both the doctoral and master’s level, with preference given to doctoral students. This also includes over $1 million in fellowships available to full-time master’s students. On average, 15%–20% of our incoming students receive the fellowship award.

and teachers who bring real-world experience to the classroom, Stevens faculty are often sought out by government and corporations as leaders in their field. Their insights help graduate students relate classroom learning to today’s most pressing business and societal challenges.

National research centers of excellence, cutting-edge labs

Stevens houses four National Centers
of Excellence, advanced research facilities selected by the U.S. government to lead national research, development, and education efforts to address crucial global needs—the Systems Engineering Research Center, the Maritime Security Center, the Atlantic Center for the Innovative Design and Control of Small Ships, and the Center for the Advancement of Secure Systems and Information Assurance. The University is also home to joint research programs focused on critical industries, including health care, energy, finance, defense, maritime security, STEM education, and coastal sustainability.

Resources and facilities include “smart” classrooms, computer-aided design and manufacturing labs, graphics labs, robotic sites, a multiscale and nanotechnology lab, a sound synthesis lab, a computer-aided education lab, and a motion capture lab. The newest lab at Stevens, the Hanlon Financial Systems Lab, uses the latest software and real-time market data to enable research into high-frequency trading, quantitative methods, big data analytics, market performance, and more.

Campus and diversity
Stevens is located in cosmopolitan Hoboken, New Jersey, a youthful and bustling one-square-mile city dotted with quaint homes, a thriving restaurant scene, and numerous shops and boutiques. The 55-acre campus is situated on the Hudson River, within sight of New York. Stevens’ green lawns, majestic vistas, and charming buildings are a mere 10-minute train ride from the excitement and opportunity offered by the financial capital of the world.

Stevens is home to a diverse community of students from across the globe. Graduate students come from 25 states and more than 50 countries. Stevens offers a variety of services for international students, including English language assistance.

Stevens consistently ranks high in such metrics as return on investment and mid-career salaries of graduates, and the University is among the nation’s leaders in the number of systems engineering, STEM, and engineering degrees conferred. The 2015 Payscale College ROI Report ranked Stevens third in the nation for 20-year net return on investment for graduates.

Over 300 corporate, government, and nonprofit employers regularly recruit on-campus. Stevens’ proximity to New York and the surrounding metro gives students unmatched access to job opportunities and internships.
