Graduate financial aid opportunities
Stevens provides over $13 million in graduate financial aid in the form of research, teaching, and graduate assistantships. These assistantships are highly competitive and are given at both the doctoral and master’s level, with preference given to doctoral students. This also includes over $1 million in fellowships available to full-time master’s students. On average, 15%–20% of our incoming students receive the fellowship award.

National research centers of excellence, cutting-edge labs
Stevens houses four National Centers of Excellence, advanced research facilities selected by the US government to lead national research, development, and education efforts to address crucial global needs—the Systems Engineering Research Center, the Maritime Security Center, the Atlantic Center for the Innovative Design and Control of Small Ships, and the Center for the Advancement of Secure Systems and Information Assurance. The University is also home to joint research programs focused on critical industries, including health care, energy, finance, defense, maritime security, STEM education, and coastal sustainability.
Resources and facilities include “smart” classrooms, computer-aided design and manufacturing labs, graphics labs, robotic sites, a multiscale and nanotechnology lab, a sound synthesis lab, a computer-aided education lab, and a motion capture lab. The newest lab at Stevens, the Hanlon Financial Systems Lab, uses the latest software and real-time market data to enable research into high-frequency trading, quantitative methods, big data analytics, market performance, and more.
