Located in the heart of Boston—America’s greatest college town—Suffolk offers students a wealth of opportunities close to campus, from internships with the city’s top employers to guest speakers who are experts in fields ranging from health care and government to business, communication, and more.

Learn in the heart of Boston
Gleason L. Archer founded what became Suffolk University in 1906 after his educational benefactor asked that he pay the favor forward. The Suffolk School of Law first met in Archer’s parlor. In the 20th century’s early decades, the College of Arts and Sciences and the Sawyer Business School joined the law school. These academic units now offer more than 50 graduate programs. While the buildings that compose our dynamic campus have been traditionally located in Boston’s historic Beacon Hill neighborhood, Suffolk is now focused downtown. This exciting expansion brings students even closer to the government agencies; regional, national, and global corporations; and prestigious nonprofit organizations that power Boston’s economy. No matter what you choose to study, you will be steps away from the city’s top employers—employers with whom Suffolk enjoys close ties.

Be the center of attention
Suffolk prides itself on offering graduate students a truly student-centered education. This means that faculty members—94% of whom hold Ph.D.s—take the time to recognize each student’s promise and forge mentoring relationships that last long after graduation. In small classes you will learn from the experiences of your professors, many of whom continue to practice in their fields and enrich their classrooms with their professional insight. You’ll also benefit from their connections; Suffolk’s faculty network spans the city, country, and globe.

Earn an award-winning education
Graduate programs at the Sawyer Business School and the College of Arts and Sciences consistently garner academic accolades. For instance, Suffolk’s interior architecture program ranks among DesignIntelligence’s top 10 nationwide. Our M.B.A., M.S.T., and M.S.F. programs have been named among the country’s best by organizations such as Financial Engineer, Tax Talent, and The Princeton Review. Plus, students in the highly selective Ph.D. program in clinical psychology enjoy a match rate that exceeds the national average by more than 20%. Suffolk developed the first online and executive M.B.A. programs in New England, and that tradition of innovation infuses each of our graduate offerings.

Succeed everywhere
In Suffolk’s graduate programs, you will gain the knowledge and hands-on learning experiences you need to become a leader in your chosen field. Partnerships developed with institutions in Boston, across Massachusetts, and around the world grant you access to a wealth of choices when it comes to internships. While our incomparable location gives you an edge in networking in Boston, students have a multitude of opportunities around the world. For instance, the Sawyer Business School offers faculty-led Global Travel Seminars that give you firsthand insight in how business is conducted abroad. And graphic design graduate students can hone their illustration skills in a summer course held in Florence, Italy.

At your convenience
Whether you’re looking to advance within your field or launch a whole new career, Suffolk makes the graduate school experience as convenient as possible. You may attend on a part-time or full-time basis. Most classes are held in the early evening to accommodate your day job. And all of it is an easy walk from all major MBTA subway lines.

Get connected, stay connected
All Suffolk graduate students benefit from the Career Development Center the moment they arrive on campus. This resource offers personalized career counseling and extensive job resources. The center also helps students develop their networking, résumé-writing, and interviewing skills. Upon graduation, graduate students join Suffolk’s global network of more than 75,000 alumni who enjoy professional success in 112 countries as well as special continuing education, career development, and networking opportunities.
