High schoolers taking part in this program have access to the resources of American University and its school of communication. Students focus upon fiction or documentary filmmaking, acting and directing, public speaking, photography, broadcast journalism or animation. In addition to the Washington, DC, program, the program includes a Costa Rica option that incorporates environmental filmmaking, Spanish-language immersion and community service.
