Ball State's CAP Summer Workshop provides rising high school juniors and seniors with an intensive immersion into environmental design and problem solving. Faculty lead a series of exercises intended to both challenge students and encourage creative expression. Boys and girls engage in six hours of daily studio time, then have some unscheduled blocks in the evening to experience college life. A field trip study tour that includes bus travel to a major metropolitan city enriches classroom instruction. During the tour, participants analyze and document cultural aspects of the city's design and planning.
