Barnard College Young Women's Leadership Institute

The Young Women's Leadership Institute focuses on the relationship between leadership and gender. Girls devote mornings to classes in gender studies and social issues, then spend their afternoons engaged in workshops, seminars and discussions. Students design and execute community service projects in small groups, and reading and writing assignments are also part of the program. In addition, Leadership Institute participants meet with Barnard alumnae in their workplaces to learn about different occupations and the educational or professional training they require.
