Campers at Hickory Hill learn more about diabetes and how to better manage it. The educational program includes one hour of formal classroom training per day in such subjects as insulin administration, insulin reactions, glucose monitoring, diet, complications and the emotional aspects of living with diabetes. In addition to learning more about their disease, campers take part in various recreational pursuits. Camp costs are determined along a sliding scale according to family income.
