Onaway conducts a structured program that combines traditional camp activities with strong arts offerings. Scheduled morning instruction time leads into free choice periods each afternoon. Girls receive two hours a week of morning instruction in tennis, arts and crafts, woodworking, sewing, classical dance, boating or canoeing, and sailing or crew. Counselors allot an hour per week to nature study, camp craft and drama, as well as extra time for trips, rehearsals and practical experience. The daily schedule also features two swimming periods: one for lessons and the other for free swimming. Optional creative pursuits and an active tripping program round out Onaway's offerings.
