Current high school sophomores who are of African-American decent or who have an interest in African-American culture may apply to this free, weeklong program. CLAE introduces students to a college liberal arts setting through a varied curriculum that features courses in science, art, the social sciences and technology. In addition to academics, Carleton offers workshops designed to assist boys and girls with their high school and college careers; workshops address such topics as ACT/SAT preparation and the college application process. Various group activities, such as trips to sites of interest in Metropolitan Minneapolis-St. Paul, round out the program.
