Christchurch offers two age-based marine science programs. For campers ages 8-11, Chesapeake Critter Camp involves the weeklong exploration of creatures dwelling in and around the Rappahannock River and Chesapeake Bay watersheds. Children search for insect and animal life while on foot or in a boat. Older boys and girls (ages 12-15) engage in a hands-on examination of the wetlands of the Chesapeake Bay Watersheds. Campers gain a better understanding of the wetlands and their importance by walking, crawling and swimming through swamps, bogs, and fresh- and saltwater marshes.
