Workshop participants choose a primary area of focus—poetry, fiction or creative nonfiction—for the duration of the eight-day session. Small, intensive groups of 10 or fewer students meet daily, and boys and girls also engage in one-on-one conferences with faculty members. Structured writing time is built into the program. In addition, pupils attend workshops with visiting writers and gain exposure to other genres through cross-writing sessions.
