GGE Summer School

Overview

Located in Greifwald, an idyllic medieval university town on the Baltic Sea about 2.5 hours from Berlin, GGE Summer School offers high school students an opportunity to take a freshman level college course taught by world-class professors at American universities. In addition to academics, students participate in a choice of recreational activities (digital photography, sailing, horseback riding, windsurfing, tennis, and golf) or a custom-designed internship. Three levels of conversational German classes are also offered (beginner, intermediate, and advanced). The program includes excursions to nearby islands, a three-day weekend in Berlin, and an intensive 'College Admissions Bootcamp' led by Janet Stark. Accommodations are in a residential hotel supervised by residence assistants, and everyone gets a bicycle. No prior knowledge of German is required and scholarships are available.
