Harvard University Graduate School of Design Career Discovery Program

Overview

Through Career Discovery, participants gain an introduction to the design professions by means of intense studio work, seminars and lectures, workshops and field trips. Students spend most of their time on short, intensive projects similar to first-year graduate school work in architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning or urban design concentrations. Other activities include career advising panel discusssions, field trips, office visits and drawing and computer workshops. Most participants are college students or professionals with no previous design training, although recent high school graduates make up a small percentage of attendees.
