Humanities Spring in New York

Overview

From their home base at the 92nd Street YMHA, HSNY students learn about New York City through a combination of academics and firsthand exploration of related works of art and architecture. During four hours of class work each morning, participants take courses that examine the history, architecture and art of the city. Pupils spend the afternoon hours visiting such sites as City Hall, the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building in the company of New York architects. Applicants need not have any background knowledge of art or architecture.
