Jackson Laboratory Summer Student Program

Overview

Rising seniors, high school graduates and college undergraduates may apply for summer positions conducting biomedical research. Under the guidance of a mentor, students develop an independent research project, implement their plan, analyze data and report on their results. Possible research areas include science writing, bio-informatics and computational biology, cancer, developmental biology and aging, genomics, hematology/immunology, metabolic diseases, and neurobiology and sensory deficits. Students also attend short courses and seminars on current genetics research. Participants reside at a 40-room seaside mansion on the outskirts of Acadia National Park.
