Maurice B. Shwayder Camp of Congregration Emanuel

Overview

Situated on a 240-acre site at an elevation of 10,200 feet in the Rocky Mountains, Shwayder is one of the country's oldest Reform Jewish camps. Campers may go hiking, backpacking and overnight camping in the Arapaho National Forest. Among other popular activities are riding, sports and the creative arts. The program revolves around Judaism, and boys and girls attend weekly Shabbat celebrations. One-week sessions serve children entering grades 2-4 only; all other campers attend for two weeks.
