Individualized education prepares both academically deficient and academically gifted students for college or further secondary work. Courses of study include remedial and advanced reading, English, math, history, foreign languages, science, art and English as a Second Language. A hands-on marine biology class takes advantage of the school's proximity to Long Island Sound and the Mystic Aquarium. White-water rafting, deep-sea fishing, kayaking and hiking excursions supplement course work, and boys and girls also go to concerts, amusement parks and cultural venues.
