Phillips Academy Summer Session

Overview

Enrolling a diverse student body drawn from around the world, Andover maintains a selection of approximately 60 courses in all major disciplines. The individualized program features a low student-faculty ratio and small classes. As the Summer Session provides in-depth study of the material, pupils may take only two courses. In addition to class work, the program includes afternoon recreation, college counseling workshops and trips to nearby colleges, social and cultural opportunities, and a dormitory setting that approximates collegiate living. Rising eighth graders take part in the Lower School Institutes, in which boys and girls pursue an integrated curriculum in two areas of study: math/biology and literature/performance/film.
