Sea Education Association—High School Summer Seminars

Overview

SEA conducts two high school seminars for motivated high schoolers and recent graduates interested in science, the sea and learning to sail through Science at SEA (Woods Hole). Students commence each program with academic course work during a shore component in which they live in a community setting and develop team-building and leadership skills. The second half of each program takes place at sea, where boys and girls gain hands-on experience on a modern sailing research vessel. While at sea, students collect scientific data, set and strike sails, operate sophisticated equipment and help out in the ship's galley.
