SGE Summer School

Overview

At SGE Summer School in Girona, Spain, students choose among five introductory college-level courses (Art History, Business Fundamentals, Catalan History & Culture for Spanish Speakers, International Relations & Politics, or Digital Game Design). All courses last four weeks and are designed to provide a glimpse into the rigors of a college course. All professors teach (or have taught) at American colleges and universities and have been selected based on their impressive research profiles and pedagogical expertise. You will study with the best! Additionally, all students take conversational Spanish to improve (or gain) the ability to communicate effectively in everyday situations; for those already fluent in Spanish, we offer Beginning Catalan, the ’national‘ language of Catalonia, a romance language closely related to French, Italian, and Spanish. In the afternoons, students choose among various recreational activities (each lasting two weeks – may be repeated) OR a custom-arranged internship. An intensive 2.5 day 'college boot camp‘ with Admissions Guru Janet Stark will give students the confidence and competence to figure out where they might want to go to college and why, and equip them with the knowledge to optimize their chances of getting there.
