Simons fellows participate in ongoing research projects, learn laboratory techniques and tools, write a research abstract and experience life at a research university. Students, who are paired with faculty researchers, conduct ongoing studies in physics, marine science, chemistry, life science, engineering and other fields. In addition to full-time laboratory work, fellows also participate in weekly brown-bag lunches and workshops and visit other laboratories and research groups. Participants have been recognized by the Intel Science Talent Search and the Siemens Competition in Math, Science & Technology.
