Participants in this weeklong program, which accepts players of differing skill levels, receive instruction from premier players and grandmasters. Various camp activities reinforce the player's new skills, and boys and girls have ample opportunities to play matches. Many of the instructors take a historical approach to teaching, helping campers to understand the game's tactical progression over time. OleChess' rotating schedule enables campers to study with several teachers during the course of the session. An intensive study option features lectures and other events in the evening. An adult chaperone may join young boarders; chaperones must accompany nine-year-old residents.
