The Bement School English Language and American Culture Program

Overview

Emphasizing speaking, listening, reading and writing proficiency, ELAC addresses speaking skills through interviewing, debate, oral presentation and group work. Students broaden vocabulary and analytical skills while reading various materials, and writing instruction focuses on sentence structure and paragraph construction. Teachers employ audio- and videotapes to improve listening abilities. Workshops assist children with SSAT and TOEFL preparation.
