An astronomy program that emphasizes hands-on learning, the camp has students operate research telescopes, keep nighttime hours, interact with scientists and interpret their own observations. Facilities at the Mount Lemmon site include several telescopes and direct imaging, solar imaging and spectroscopy equipment. Applicants need not possess any prior knowledge of astronomy.
