University of California-Los Angeles Summer Dance-Theater Intensive

This eight-day program for advanced high schoolers combines the disciplines of dance, theater, music and social activism. The program is particularly suited to those interested in exploring the ways in which art can raise awareness and consciousness pertaining to various socially relevant themes. Students engage in daily movement classes, ensemble physical theater, and improvisation and composition. The Dance-Theatre Intensive is noncompetitive and does not involve any conservatory-style dancing. Parents and friends may attend the session-closing collaborative performance.
