University of Miami Summer Scholar Programs

Overview

The programs, taught by university faculty, allow highly motivated rising high school juniors and seniors to pursue course work in the following areas: broadcast journalism, business, engineering, forensic investigation, health and medicine, international relations, marine science, sports administration and sports medicine. Guest speakers and visits to local sites relevant to the field of study supplement in-class work. Students earn three to six college credits, which are also accepted at many high schools. In addition to the disciplines mentioned above, the university conducts a program focusing on filmmaking (see separate listing for details).
