University of Michigan Medical School Summer Science Academy

Overview

Sponsored by the university's Diversity and Career Development Office, this enrichment program enables rising high school juniors and seniors from Michigan to preview medical school and college life. Current medical school and program alumni live in the dorms with SSA participants as they provide classroom tutoring, intellectual and social stimulation, one-on-one and small-group mentoring, and insight into college and medical school. During the day, pupils attend classes taught by experts in the field. Evening recreational pursuits include activities in the arts.
