University of Utah Summer Mathematics Program for High School Students

Overview

This precollege program comprises four parts: a three-week class on number theory, a lunch period that provides opportunities for informal math discussions, an afternoon colloquium lecture series and a computer lab in which students explore questions relating to number theory using the Python language. (Pupils need have no previous experience with Python.) Problem sessions are integrated into morning classes, and participants work on problems both individually and in groups. The program runs Monday through Thursday each week. Nonlocal students may be assessed a nominal boarding fee.
