Sweet, shy, 25-year-old Rebekah Bortniker, like so many of Taylor Swift’s legion of fans, just wanted to share her love for the singer with a unique video creation. She posted a mashup of Swift hanging out with her buddies with the Friends theme song, “I’ll Be There for You.” Cute. Clever. And so flippin’ nice that it caught the attention of Ms. Swift herself.
Swift made Bortniker’s day (understatement of all understatements) this week when she personally responded to the video with what will forever be known as the gift box to end all gift boxes.
Delivered via one of Swift’s bodyguards and filled with tons of handwritten notes and goodies, it contained a necklace, a “New York is My Boyfriend” pouch, a Polaroid picture, and a watercolor hand painted by Swift. (You can see pictures of the box and its contents from Bortniker’s Twitter here and here.)
Oh, Swift also sent $1,989 (a nod to her hit album) for her new friend “Beks” to put toward her student loans.
The package contained a card from Tay Tay too: "I really really really really hope you like it," Swift writes of the enclosed painting, according to reporting by The Huffington Post. "I'm not a good painter but I think you're so beautiful and positive, even though you're dealing with the stress life brings, so I wanted to make you something."
You can watch a truly moved Bortniker opening her package in this video, posted to her YouTube account, below.
"I love you so much," Swift wrote, responding to Bortniker on Tumblr.
(We love you too!!!)
