Many students and parents will do research on the college to get an idea of what is happening. Search websites for faculty, facilities, and research. Come with an open mind and ready to extend your knowledge base during the summer.

Usually you do not need to do anything specific to prepare for a summer program. One thing you can do is review the program website to determine whether or not there is any assignment or specific expectation of you before you attend. If you are nervous (which is totally normal!), you may also find reading about other campers’ experiences helps you prepare and calm your nerves. You’ll find such real-world examples here, here, here, and here.
