All of this academic power is brought to you by exceptional, always-accessible faculty members who are committed to your success. Premier programs for exceptional students
Stand out from the crowd and discover deeper learning at NSU through our Premier programs. Whether you want to dive into shark research in our Oceanographic Center or save
a seat in medical school as a college freshman through our Dual Admission Program, NSU has opportunities for you to excel.

Through thought-provoking course work and life-changing learning opportunities, the Farquhar Honors College offers far more than just honors courses, thesis guidance, and faculty mentorship. The College also fosters a supportive community and inspiring environment. With one-of-a-kind research, travel study, and career-defining internships, honors students have doors opened to them to take their education farther.

NSU pioneered the Dual Admission Program for a select group of highly qualified and motivated students who have maintained a laser focus on their career goals from early in their academic pursuits. As a Dual Admission student, you have a reserved seat in one of NSU’s graduate or professional schools while you earn your bachelor’s degree. In today’s competitive world, that’s like getting a head start on the rest of your life.

The Razor’s Edge Scholars Program offers six programmatic scholarship tracks in Global, Leadership, Research, Shark Cage (Business), Shark Talent, and Shark Teach. These four-year residential programs combine curricular and cocurricular experiences intended to capture the unique interests and talent of individual students while they earn an additional minor and scholarship dollars.

NSU strives to add another dimension to your educational experience by providing research opportunities outside of the classroom. From the very beginning, NSU has embraced science and technology to enhance the education experience. Today, aided by more than $82 million in external funding, NSU researchers are at the leading edge of scientific breakthroughs on many fronts. More than 200 research projects are currently underway, including anti-cancer therapies, coral reef restorations, stem cell treatments, and wildlife DNA forensics. New as of fall 2016, NSU’s revolutionary Center for Collaborative Research houses an IBM supercomputer, one of Florida’s largest wet labs, the NSU Technology Incubator, and some of the world’s most accomplished researchers.
