Christian Life Profile

Shine on

At Missouri Baptist University, you’ll be part of a community of faculty, staff, and students who will push you to discover God’s plan for your life. And once you discover your life’s purpose, we’ll prepare you to be the best you can be.

We believe the most powerful agents for change are faith and education. When pursued together, they ignite an enduring light within each of us, propelling us to a level of greatness we may not have otherwise thought possible. From the beginning, you’ll be challenged to dig deep and discover your purpose. You’ll be challenged to grow in your faith and your major. In the end, you’ll be prepared to lead in your career and better the community where you live.

Faithful presence
As St. Louis’s only evangelical university, we take our Christ-centered mission seriously. Every MBU professor unashamedly proclaims Christianity inside and outside of the classroom. Faith is integrated into every aspect of the college experience—from Campus Ministries to weekly chapels featuring guest speakers from around the world. We believe our faith compels us to invest in the lives of our students, so when they graduate, they are prepared to be a light for Christ in the communities where they live and work.

Expanding perspectives
Each year, MBU students are encouraged to participate in a number of international mission trips. Recently, students have traveled to Guatemala, Israel, the Dominican Republic, and the United Kingdom.

MBU offers opportunities to explore the world while taking courses in more than 19 countries. Students have studied in England, Ireland, and Australia and return home with a new understanding of the world. MBU also offers the ability to study and work in cities across the United States, such as interning at think tanks in Washington, DC, and working on film sets in Los Angeles.

Our home
Lauded as the “Hidden Gem of America” by HuffPost, St. Louis provides abundant opportunities and activities that are minutes away from MBU’s West St. Louis County campus. Our city is home to start-up cultivators, internationally recognized coffee shops, some of the nation’s top businesses and hospitals, and an abundance of free activities.

Spartan spirit
Every year, there’s a line waiting for the doors of “thePerk (the event)” to open. Students and alumni gather there for coffee, live music, fond memories, and a cherished collectible coffee mug. MBU traditions throughout the school year feature Spartan rallies before football games and the lighting of the Christmas tree during Hanging of the Green. It’s events like these that turn into beloved memories that connect you to all MBU Spartans—alumni and future.

Prepared for success
We believe a college degree empowers you to find and pursue your calling, and we work to prevent any barriers to you reaching your potential. Our scholarships recognize your hard work and range from academic to ministry based to suit your talents and passions. Add our on-campus jobs and resources to help find off-campus employment and you’ll realize that affording a college degree can be met with confidence.

You have a purpose in this world. During your time at MBU, friends and mentors will support you as you discover and prepare for your calling to better the world. We will help you find your light and empower you to shine brighter than you could ever imagine.

The Missouri Baptist University School of Nursing intersects innovative preparation with Christian perspectives, integrating personal faith in the practice of nursing while serving in a global and culturally diverse society. Each Nursing student will receive a laptop and learn in a newly renovated, state-of-the-art facility.

High school seniors can be pre-admitted to the Nursing program, and current college students can be admitted after fulfilling the required prerequisite courses. The program accepts new students every fall semester.
