Shine on

Learn on
There’s one question everybody asks when searching for a college: “How will I benefit from my college experience?” It’s a fair question and well worth asking. But the kind of students who choose Missouri Baptist University often ask another question as well: “What kind of impact will I make on the world as a result of my college experience?”

That’s what we mean by “shine on.” Our students go out from our campus and shine in a world that is a better place because of their skills and wisdom and passion. Successful, confident, and prepared for life, MBU students stand out.

The learning you acquire at MBU will go on and on—not only in your memory or even in the habits of lifelong learning you will develop, but in the impact you will make on the world around you.

Work on
Academic rigor means a lot of different things, but it always means this: your degree is worth something. Whichever of Missouri Baptist’s 40+ areas of academic study you decide to pursue, one thing is certain: you’ll be prepared for the challenges that await.

The professors at MBU are extremely good at what they do. Small class sizes give our students a great deal of direct access to faculty. Our professors expect a lot out of their students, but they also see them through to success.

Sure, there are easier ways to get your college degree. But anything worth having is worth working for. So work on. Your hard work is sure to pay off.

Play on
College life isn’t all about school work. Missouri Baptist University has a vibrant campus life. Our facilities are first-rate and include a brand-new fitness and athletic center, the largest campus coffeehouse in the state of Missouri, and modern living options. Students will feel at home in traditional dorm-style residence halls, apartments with private bedrooms, or an innovative hybrid alternative in which students live in communities of 16 or fewer with kitchens and shared living areas.

You’ll learn, lead, and work at MBU, but you’ll also play—and that play will be an important part of your college experience. From student-led clubs to varsity and intramural sports, kickball tournaments, weekend road trips, campus ministries, and all that St. Louis has to offer, students have countless ways to connect and take part in a vibrant campus life. Here’s where much of the vital work of relationship-building happens.

Game on
Athletics are an important part of the MBU experience. Whether you compete for one of our 24 athletic programs or cheer from the stands, Spartan sports add energy and excitement to campus life.

The fall of 2013 saw the inaugural season of Spartan football at Missouri Baptist University, and the fall of 2015 marked the first season of MBU’s state-of-the-art Football Complex. The new football team and complex is only part of the reason that now is a better time than ever to be an MBU Spartan. The new Carl and Deloris Petty Sports and Recreation Complex includes a 1,000-seat gymnasium for the Spartan basketball, volleyball, and wrestling teams, as well as state-of-the-art fitness facilities that are available to all MBU students.
