Imagine a place that offers all the educational opportunities of a large university in the mentoring culture of a small college, open to all who show potential.
At Wilkes University, if you can dream it, you can do it here. Wilkes opens doors for those who are driven to go after their dreams. We anticipate how the world is changing and look ahead to the degrees, experiences, and opportunities our students need to create the futures they want. All Wilkes students can take advantage of numerous opportunities to get real-world experience in their fields of interest, whether that’s starting a business, conducting research, or using high-tech instruments that even graduate students at other institutions rarely touch.
Unique program mix
You can choose from 46 majors across six schools. Located at the foothills of the famous Pocono Mountains, Wilkes University is a private comprehensive institution with about 2,500 undergraduate students. The compact 35-acre campus features a park-like quadrangle surrounded by modern academic buildings and historic 19th-century mansions that have been restored as student residences and classroom buildings.
Academic programs are designed to prepare students with a well-rounded foundation that cultivates the soft skills employers want and gives students the credentials necessary to launch a career or for entrance into graduate and professional schools. New programs include majors in Supply Chain Management and Hospitality Leadership as well as minors in Sport Psychology and Actuarial Science.
The University is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and has specialized accreditation in the sciences, pharmacy, engineering, nursing, education, and business. About 94% of students are employed or attending graduate/professional school within one year of receiving their degrees.
Recognized for value
The prestigious global publication The Economist ranked Wilkes 25th in the nation for economic value, confirming Wilkes’s commitment to preparing students for academic success in high-paying careers. It determined a college’s economic value by comparing what a school’s graduates earn to how much they might have earned had they studied elsewhere.
