Quality private education
Founded nearly 160 years ago by the Franciscan Brothers, St. Francis College has always had a mission to help students achieve their life dreams of personal and professional success. Offering one of the lowest private college tuition rates in the New York metro area and a generous financial aid program, the College’s value-added approach provides an outstanding education with all the benefits and opportunities associated with a small private college. U.S. News & World Report classifies St. Francis as one of the “Best Regional Colleges—North,” as well as the fifth-most diverse. Forbes  again placed St. Francis on its “America’s Top Colleges” list for the sixth year in a row, and most recently, the College was recognized in Moneymagazine’s “Best Value for Your Money.”

Outstanding academics
The College offers more than 70 programs, majors, and minors all within a small yet dynamic classroom setting. The student-faculty ratio of 14:1 means accessible professors within an engaged learning community. The General Education Program, the College’s academic cornerstone, helps promote student learning outcomes through various bodies of knowledge. This in turn allows students to fulfill their requirements while learning about a wide variety of subjects outside their majors or minors.

The wide range of disciplines ensures that each student has the opportunity to develop into a well-rounded individual, preparing them for a successful career and fulfilling future.

Transferring to SFC
St. Francis College’s personal approach will help ease your transition and support your move every step of the way. Learn more about transferring to St. Francis College and completing your degree at sfc.edu/transfer. You can also take our virtual tour at sfc.edu/#virtualtour and explore the College as if you were actually in Brooklyn Heights.

Financial aid and scholarships
Our transfer students know many reasons why St. Francis College is the best place to complete their education. One great reason is our generous scholarship program. Scholarships up to $10,000 annually are awarded to eligible students based on their overall GPA. Nearly 80% of our last incoming class qualified for academic grants and institutional awards.

NCAA Division I athletics
Students participate in 21 Division I athletic teams, including men’s and women’s basketball (Northeast Conference champions), men’s soccer (Northeast Conference champions), women’s volleyball and bowling, and men’s and women’s cross-country, golf, indoor and outdoor track, swimming & diving, tennis, and water polo. Two new D-I sports have also been added: men’s volleyball and women’s soccer.
