Study abroad opportunities
Business students at the University of Evansville have the opportunity to choose among a vast array of study abroad opportunities—including time at Harlaxton College, UE’s British campus in Grantham, England. Whether you choose one of our semester programs, a 10-day program, a summer experience, or an international internship, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in another culture, fostering a deeper understanding of how business operates outside the United States.
With 52% of UE students studying abroad, UE is committed to fostering an international mindset on its campus. Recently business students have studied in Brazil, China, Hong Kong, India, Mongolia, Singapore, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.
The Schroeder School of Business also promotes student success through its career advancement program. Business students are paired with an alumni mentor in their area of interest and with community corporate partners. Students also work with the director of career advancement for résumé assistance, mock interview sessions, and best fit career opportunities.
The Schroeder School of Business requires all business students to participate in the ACES (Access to Career Engagement and Success) Passport Program, which provides a roadmap for business students to develop career advancement techniques and networking contacts. Activities include career fairs, interviewing, résumé and cover letter development, and networking events.
When Schroeder School of Business students speak with potential employers about their experiences, the challenge is determining which of their experiences they should discuss. Every student completes at least one internship experience and has an opportunity to offer consulting advice to regional businesses wanting to engage in international business activities. These hands-on meaningful experiences have resulted, in recent years, in 98% of Schroeder School of Business graduates being employed within six months of graduation.
Institute for Global Enterprise
The Schroeder School of Business Institute for Global Enterprise exists to ensure UE business students experience international situations, challenges, and opportunities that will prepare them to contribute and succeed in a global economy.
The institute further serves as an innovative partner to regional business, many of whom are international in scope, by providing ongoing educational opportunities and an external resource base made of UE faculty, students, and other collaborative resources. The Institute for Global Enterprise is one more way that students gain the experience-based knowledge that prepares them to succeed in a worldwide marketplace.
The Institute Speaker Series has offered students the opportunity to hear firsthand from leaders on the global business stage, including former president of Mexico Vicente Fox, author Khaled Hosseini, author and columnist Thomas Friedman, ice cream moguls Ben & Jerry, and fashion designer Calvin Klein.
The best way to see for yourself the many opportunities you will have available as a UE business student is to visit campus during an IMPACT Visit Day or by scheduling an individual visit. While on campus you can meet one-on-one with a business faculty member to discover firsthand what a UE business degree can do for you. Learn more at www.evansville.edu.
