Get relevant
Founded in 1952 by the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill as a teaching college, St. Thomas Aquinas College has grown to a 60-acre campus. We carry on in the Dominican Sisters’ tradition to “enlighten the mind through truth,” and our academic programs speak to the needs of today’s society. Combining intellectual rigor with experiential training, we’ll prepare you to excel in a competitive job market and throughout your life. With more than 100 programs to choose from in the School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business, and the School of Education, including unique programs like Art Therapy, Art Education, and Therapeutic Recreation and options in growing fields such as Forensic Science and Sport Management, we’ll help you find the one that fits your needs and interests.

Get involved
Enrich your college experience and develop leadership skills by participating in more than 40 student clubs, a wide range of service learning opportunities, 18 NCAA Division II athletics, and a variety of intramural and club sports. Whether your interests are in sports, the performing arts, campus ministry, radio, publishing, or student government, there is a place for you.

Following in the tradition of our Catholic heritage, our Spartan Volunteers (the largest club on campus) host fundraisers for local nonprofits and provide food and clothing to NYC’s homeless through the monthly Midnight Runs. Our Campus Ministry Office hosts discussions about world events and activities aimed at human rights issues. Our Dominican Young Adult chapter organizes interfaith prayer services for special occasions and gatherings around our Peace Pole to pray for an end to war and violence.

Ready to launch
From internships and virtual career fairs to etiquette seminars, résumé-building workshops, and mock interviews, we provide you with real-world perspective of life in the field. We give you the tools to build your confidence and help you develop into a polished job candidate. Whatever career you choose, we will prepare you to enter tomorrow’s workforce.

Experience it
Our students are presenting at international conferences, Forensic Science majors are interning with law enforcement to investigate crimes, Biology students are conducting research in state-of-the-art labs, and future educators are working with faculty to enrich education through digital literacy and 3-D gaming. Our students take Altern-ative Spring Break trips to build homes in Nicaragua or travel to Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota to provide support to one of the nation’s poorest areas.

Life-changing experiences like these will enrich your college years and allow you to explore career possibilities, making you a more attractive job candidate.

Service Learning Experience
Pine Ridge Indian Reservation
Jason Dore ’16
Adolescence Education

“This was a real learning experience. None of us had ever seen this level of poverty. Pine Ridge is one of the poorest communities in the western hemisphere. It gave us perspective. This experience will stay with me forever. I take forgranted how much I have. An elder said to us, ‘We’re not wealthy in terms of money, but we’re rich in culture and heritage.’ I’ll use that in my teaching someday.”
