One of the top colleges for doing the most for the American Dream — New York Times
Westminster College is a nationally recognized liberal arts college known for its collaborative environment, outstanding experiential learning programs, and focus on student success. Located in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, we offer our students a million ways to “Be a Part of Something Real,” but these are some of our favorites...
Majors and programs
Our 51 majors and professional programs prepare students for thousands of successful careers. For some students the path is obvious, like our Pre-med and Pre-law students who are accepted to professional schools (with an over 90% acceptance rate for both programs of study).
For others it isn’t, like our English majors who become tremendously successful entrepreneurs. Success stories like these are among the reasons we were recognized by The New York Times as one of the top colleges doing the most for the “American Dream.”
Collaboration and support
Prestigious people, fancy architecture, mountains of paperwork…college can be intimidating. But Westminster College is different. Our students work together and support each other. Our faculty, staff, and administrators put students at the center of everything we do. From academic support and a wellness center to free (that’s right, free) laundry and a career closet for students who need suits for job interviews, our faculty and staff support our students in every way.
Best college for your money
Our students receive personal attention and hands-on experiences, but they spend about the same amount out-of-pocket that they would at a large state university. Our merit-based scholarship packages range from $12,000 per year up to full tuition. Last year, we offered 100% of our degree-seeking undergraduate students tuition assistance. It’s the reason Money magazine has been ranking us as “One of the Best Colleges for Your Money” for years. Let us work with you to make your Westminster education affordable.
Real experiences, real success
At Westminster, education and real-world experiences go hand-in-hand. We’re in the top 5% nationally for student participation in hands-on experiences like internships, research, study abroad, service, and leadership. And employers and graduate schools have noticed the difference: a year after graduation, 98% of our students are either employed or in graduate school. Titan success stories are written from coast to coast, so no matter where you see yourself after graduation, we can help you get there.
Campus life and athletics
Student life at our small college is big. No matter what you’re into, whether it’s art and athletics or volunteering and video games, you’ll find other Westminster students who love it too. We field 22 NCAA Division III varsity sports, and nearly half of our students are athletes. We have over 80 student-run clubs and organizations and nine national fraternities and sororities. And we offer all students two fitness centers, a natatorium, a climbing wall, and a 300-acre campus perfect for biking, hiking, running, canoeing—or just relaxing.
