De Montfort University: “Proud to be More,” a university dedicated to providing truly life-changing experiences both inside and outside the classroom

1. Graduates have secured jobs with Jimmy Choo, ASOS, KPMG, and BMW.

2. DMU was named one of the 200 “Best Young Universities” in the world (under the age of 50) by Times Higher Education magazine in 2018.

3. 97.3% of DMU graduates from summer 2017 are in work or further study after graduating (above the sector average of 94.6%), according to the Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) 2016–2017 report.

Located in the heart of Leicester, the East Midlands hub of multiculturalism, De Montfort is pioneering the way forward for teaching excellence and international experiences. Join a university that will connect you globally and allow you to channel your academic vision and prosper even after you graduate. Undertake an internship overseas, be part of our gospel choir, or set up your own society: the future is all about you.

Home to 22,000 students from over 120 countries, De Montfort prides itself on cultural exchange and championing differences. Our learning environment is designed to encourage peer learning, stimulate discussion, and add value to your degree programme. Being well connected to local, national, and international businesses and only an hour away from London, you’ll have the chance to study in a truly unique environment while also having the opportunity to go above and beyond just securing a degree.

Our fantastic programme designed to give every student an international experience has gone from strength to strength over the last five years. Participate in one of our mass trips to New York, Hong Kong, or Berlin and put the theory you’ve learned in the classroom to practice. Other opportunities include learning Arabic on campus, participating in our voluntary programme Square Mile, or going on our summer school course run by Korea University.

Going for gold
DMU secured Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), a government-endorsed national award that recognises teaching excellence alongside outstanding physical and digital resources. Learn from tutors that have worked in industry, taught in international universities, and enjoy research as much as they enjoy teaching.

Vijay Patel Building
Our new Vijay Patel Building, the arts and design hub of the University, recently secured “Best New Building” from the Leicester Civic Society. Thanks to its outstanding architecture, suite of creative workshop spaces, and impressive Digital Arts Tower, the building radiates light, energy, and inspiration. Study, relax, and dine in the building that’s home to our internationally recognised Footwear Design and Contour Fashion degrees, and soak in the arts vibe of both students and practicing artists. Surrounded by a serene green landscape and plenty of outdoor seating, the Vijay Patel also provides a relaxing rural oasis for our city centre–based university.

A multicultural city
Coming to Leicester also means that you’ll be part of a fantastic multinational community, both at the University and in the city at large. Experience the culture, food, and buzz of Narborough Road, home to residents and shop owners from 22 countries. In Leicester, we also celebrate a variety of festivals that include Diwali, Eid, Chanukah, Caribbean Festival, Easter, and Black History Month—great opportunities for you to celebrate diversity but also learn more about different cultures. Leicester is also home to Leicester City Football Club, Curve Theatre, Phoenix Theatre, and Fosse Arts, so you will never be short of things to do.
