Assumption’s Nursing program, incorporating the latest techniques and innovations in health care, prepares students to be professional nurses who provide high-quality, patient-centered health care. A rigorous program of foundational courses and Nursing courses, coupled with clinical education in acute care, community-based, and simulation environments, provides a solid education to promote the health of individuals, families, and communities across the globe. Students graduate ready to address today’s most urgent health needs—including patient teaching, health promotion, and health equity. The College is currently planning a new facility for the Nursing program that would include a state-of-the-art Clinical Skills and Simulation Laboratory to augment the acute care and community-based clinical experiences. Assumption’s Health Sciences program prepares students for a broad range of career opportunities in the growing fields of health care and public health with applications to clinical practice, administration, policy development, and research. Assumption’s Health Sciences major is an interdisciplinary program with course work in the natural sciences, disease and disability, public health, and health care delivery as well as the economics, ethics, and policies that drive health care systems.
